📋 Terms & Community Guidelines
By using MCM Square, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they keep our campus marketplace safe and fair for everyone.
🎓 Who Can Use MCM Square
- MCM Square is exclusively for Caleb University students.
- You must sign up with a valid @calebuniversity.edu.ng email address.
- You must be a currently enrolled student to create an account and post listings.
- Sharing your account with non-students is not allowed.
✅ What You Can Post
- Personal items you own and want to sell — textbooks, electronics, clothing, furniture, etc.
- Services you can provide to fellow students — tutoring, design, repairs, etc.
- Food and drinks you prepare or sell on campus.
- Lost or found items on the Lost & Found board.
🚫 What Is NOT Allowed
⚠️ Violating these rules will result in your account being permanently banned.
- Fake or scam listings — do not post items you don't own or can't deliver.
- Stolen goods — selling stolen property is illegal and will be reported to campus security.
- Illegal items — drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, or anything prohibited by law or university policy.
- Inappropriate content — no explicit, offensive, or sexually suggestive listings.
- Misleading prices — do not bait-and-switch with false pricing.
- Spam — do not post the same item multiple times to flood the feed.
- Harassment — do not use the messaging system to harass or threaten other students.
- Impersonation — do not pretend to be another student or university staff.
🚩 Reporting Inappropriate Content
If you see a listing that violates these guidelines — a scam, stolen item, inappropriate content,
or anything that makes you uncomfortable — please report it immediately.
How to report a listing:
1. Tap on the listing to open it.
2. Scroll down and tap 🚩 Report.
3. Select the reason and submit.
Our admin team reviews all reports and will remove violating listings and ban offending accounts.
Your report is anonymous — the seller will not know you reported them.
For urgent issues (scams, threats, stolen goods), contact the admin directly at
mycampuscravingssupport@gmail.com or report to campus security.
🤝 Transactions & Safety
- All transactions happen in person on campus. MCM Square does not process payments between buyers and sellers.
- Always meet in a public place on campus — the library, student centre, or faculty building.
- Inspect items before paying. MCM Square is not responsible for disputes between buyers and sellers.
- Never send money in advance to someone you haven't met.
- If a deal feels suspicious, trust your instincts and walk away.
⚡ Boost Payments
- Boost payments (₦300 Basic / ₦1,000 Premium) are processed securely via Paystack.
- Boosts are non-refundable once activated.
- Boosted listings that violate community guidelines will be removed without refund.
👤 Your Account
- You are responsible for all activity on your account.
- Keep your password secure and do not share it.
- MCM Square reserves the right to suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms.
- Banned users may not create new accounts.
🔒 Privacy
- Your email address is never shown publicly on the platform.
- Your WhatsApp number is only visible to logged-in Caleb students.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- Listing images are stored securely on Supabase cloud storage.
